Honey, the technology has shrunk!

Sandberg have done it before and now they are doing it again! Technology that should be larger – much larger – has shrunk, become compact, packaged together, zapped down or something in that direction to an unbelievably small size. And it still works great.

The small piece of dongle that sticks out of the computer when you have plugged in the Sandberg Micro WiFi USB Dongle is about the size of two unpopped kernels of popcorn or something similar. And it's stylish! If the laptop has no built-in WiFi or if the built-in WiFi is broken, which unfortunately happens to a lot of people, then the new Micro adapter is absolutely ingenious.

"Plug&Forget" is what Sandberg calls the principle of making things so small that you can just forget about them once you have plugged them into the machine. They simply get on with their job and can be left in the laptop computer when you stuff it into a bag.

The USB interface and complete network card with WPS encryption have shrunk so much in size that they both fit into the ridiculously small adapter.

We ask Product Manager Anders Partida Petersen what he has done with the antenna. He replies: "The antenna is also in there. The sort used here don't need to be that big these days. Just think of how many different antennas there are in a compact smartphone to enable the mobile phone itself as well as GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and FM radio to be used. Some of them need a range of many kilometres, so our desire to achieve a range of 300 metres with WiFi is certainly possible – without an antenna sticking out."

The Sandberg Micro WiFi USB Dongle offers speeds of up to 150 Mbit/sec. Much more than what most people need. The product is already on its way to the stores.
