New mobile networks a nuisance for ordinary TV viewers

Ordinary TV viewers will suddenly suffer from black screens or choppy images on their TV due to the major roll-out of the LTE mobile network.

While you can rejoice in the amazing speeds on your phone or your iPad's internet connection, you will have to sit back on the couch with a lousy TV picture. This is true at least for the millions of households that use the aerial jack on the TV - whether the signal comes from a household aerial, joint aerial or cable TV.

Now Sandberg is coming to the aid of these users. A new series of LTE secured aerial kits offers both cable assemblies and components for the aerial cables that are guaranteed safe from LTE noise.

Martin Hollerup, Managing Director at Sandberg A/S, says: "It is unfortunate that the LTE signal uses the same frequencies which for many years have been reserved for the aerial signal. But such is life! As a consumer, there is nothing for it but to upgrade the cables and amplifiers so they are up to date. With our series we want to make things simple and uncluttered, whether you have a simple installation or are running new cables through the walls."

Although Sandberg cables are 100% LTE secured, you can still experience problems after replacing the cables and amplifiers, since about 10% of all TV sets on the market are not LTE-secured. Cables and amplifiers should be replaced in all cases, so the investment will never be wasted.
