It wasn’t just his own printer, webcam and card reader connected to the computer’s USB ports. The rest of the family also tended to dock their own cameras, mobiles and MP3 players whenever they needed to be updated, cleared, synced, transferred, etc. The USB peripherals were forever being connected and disconnected. That was the day it ended in disaster! When Martin pulled a USB stick out of the computer for the seventeenth time, the back of his hand flew straight into the coffee mug. Before he could do anything about it, the hot liquid hung in mid-air for a second. Then, a moment later, the forces of gravity on the black substance made his day considerably worse. EVERYTHING was soaked in coffee.
Why didn’t he just use a Sandberg Hub 4 Ports? It works as a USB port splitter and allows the USB connectors to be located away from the computer. Two of the connectors can be tilted to allow large units to be connected.
