Danish IT company Sandberg A/S has been known for many years as a specialist in cables as well as some small accessories. This profile has now been turned on its head, and Sandberg is presenting itself as a "gadget company" that has cables and adapters as a sideline. This change is highlighted by the launch of a completely new website.

Cables are a necessary evil for most consumers. Sandberg has been known for many years as the company that has simplified the awkward task of connecting various units to one another properly, while also creating a concept of connection products that ensure good quality. This concept will be retained and steadily strengthened and expanded in the future.

But the major focus now is on gadget products. In the past six months, Sandberg has launched one great and unusual gadget product after another, ranging from lightning-fast hard disk solutions to smart and advanced sound systems and headsets.

Martin Hollerup, Managing Director, explains: "We are dividing our product lines into gadgets and connectivity. The share of gadgets is growing so rapidly and attracting such a level of interest that it has overtaken connectivity. So it isn't actually because we are doing less with cables and adapters than we have ever done – gadgets are quite simply experiencing massive growth. This is a direct consequence of the many very strong products we can now offer in this segment."

The MD continues: "In Sandberg's world a gadget can be both a practical solution to a problem and a delightful self-indulgence. All our products are imbued with our fundamental values, that is to say simplicity, quality and keen prices. Everything is founded on our ideology of "'IT is for everybody'".

Sandberg has just launched a completely new website, which is designed simply and provides access to in-depth information about the many products in the Sandberg range, from cables and adapters to headsets, speakers and input units to various types of hard disk solutions and smart power supply units. Everything is presented clearly and in a way that is accessible to everyone.

Hollerup says: "We always give thought to why people have to buy one product or another. And that is apparent on the website. The texts are in everyday language, with sparing use of technical expressions. They are intended to be accessible to everyone. Ultimately it's not a 2.5" eSATA NEC-based hard disk controller you need, but the certainty that your data will be stored securely. Many products are displayed in 3D, so that visitors to the website can turn and rotate them instead of just viewing a flat image."

Sandberg's new website can be experienced at www.sandberg.world.
